Brookdale break drought with emphatic first win!

The Brookdale Bluebells returned triumphant to Lockhart on Friday after notching up their maiden Women’s footy win against newcomers Collingullie Glenfield Park at Crossroads Oval. Gullie were brimming with confidence after their first round win over Narrandera but it was the Bluebells who started the game on fire with two quick goals and were never headed.

In other matches EWK pushed early premiership favourites North Wagga all the way at Gumly Oval but could not overcome an early onslaught losing by 15 points. North Wagga showed the signs that they will be hard to beat as they join CSU at the top of the table with two wins from two.

CSU disposed of Narrandera and enjoyed the expanse of the Eagles home turf as they piled on 9 goals to nil in another dominant display. The Eagles tried hard all game and shows plenty of promise but were unable to hold back the rampant Bushpigs who remain undefeated going into their round 3 match-up against the Demons.

Ganmain also celebrated a milestone with an impressive first win on the road against Griffith. The Lions were dominant all over the ground and are improving rapidly with every game they play. Griffith will need to improve their next performance if they are to take advantage of their home games in the next few weeks.
