Joss State Zone Trials – Day 2

Day two of the Under-15 and Under-16 Joss State Zone Trials continued with the Starz, Heat, Pioneers, Pigeons, Cats, Stingrays and Rebels all playing spirited matches.

Another day in sunny conditions at St Ignatius’ College, Riverview, saw the players put on a show for the crowd and AFL talent scouts looking on.

At night, the kids will sit through seven theory sessions aimed at giving them an insight into the life of an AFL player.

Former Carlton vice-captain Nick Stevens will talk about his experience playing the game at the highest level. Sally Walker from the NSW Institute of Sport will address the kids about the importance of nutrition while Danny Stevens, regional academy manager of southern NSW, will discuss what’s expected of the players at a state level.

Today all kids will be broken up into their respective zones, the Sydney Swans and Team GWS, where the clubs will speak about their academy programs.

All players will return to the AFL field tomorrow.
