GIANTS Academy update
On Saturday the 11th August, seven Slater & Gordon GIANTS Academy players had the opportunity to Fly to Metricon Stadium to play in the UWS GIANTS NEAFL Team against the Gold Coast Suns.
The boys included Joseph Redfern from Wagga Wagga, Stuart Turner from Sydney Hills, Paul Green from Campbelltown, Zac Williams from Naranderra, Canberra based- Chris Janesen, Logan Austin and Liam Flaherty and Doug Bond from Deniliquin. The boys did a fantastic job and the UWS GIANTS won the game by six points.
The opportunity for these Slater & Gordon GIANTS Academy players to be able to play in the UWS GIANTS team, enables them to understand the commitment required to play AFL at the highest level. This year the Academy has exposed 48 Slater & Gordon Academy players to this level of football through the UWS GIANTS.
A big congratulations to Slater & Gordon GIANTS Academy players Liam Griffith from Goulburn and Nick Coughlan from Albury for being selected in the AIS Academy intake from their performance at the U/16 National Championships.
Level One players were selected from the recent NAB AFL Under-16 Championships that were held in Sydney. The squad of 30 will tour New Zealand in January.
Another congratulations to Jacob Hopper fromLeeton and Jock Cornell for Wagga Wagga for being selected in the All Australian U15 Schools team.
