Smith to play 50th game
By James Matthey
Isaac Smith is set to add the impressive achievement of his 50th cap to a resume that is becoming more impressive each time he dons a gold and brown jersey.
Originally from Cootamundra, Smith was drafted by the Hawks at pick 19 in the 2010 National Draft, making his debut for the Victorian club in 2011.
The pacy winger made a name for himself with North Ballarat in the VFL, impressing Hawthorn scouts with his speed, endurance and ability to break games open with moments of individual brilliance.
Smith became a fan-favourite at Hawthorn almost immediately, showcasing his skills in a brilliant debut against Port Adelaide in Round 7 of 2011, stamping his authority on the match with 21 disposals, six marks and six inside 50s.
The 24-year old has gone from strength to strength since beginning his AFL career, playing 22 games in 2012 and yet to miss a game during the 2013 campaign.
