Three changes for MCUE
MCUE will be without gun brothers Jack and Pat Killalea for the clash while young star Jock Cornell will also miss the next fortnight of football with the Goannas while he is away for representative duty in the under 16s National championships.
MCUE will welcome back captain Trent Cohalan from a hamstring injury while brothers Joe (pictured) and James Scott have been recalled to the senior outfit after strong performances in reserve grade over the past fortnight.
Cohalan missed last week’s 13-point loss to Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong after injuring his hamstring against Griffith three weeks ago but has fully recovered and completed training at Mangoplah Sportsground last night.
MCUE will face the toughest test in the RFL when it travels to Kindra Park to play the undefeated ladder-leaders and the Goannas will need to beat Coolamon to keep their position in the top five.
A loss would see MCUE fall out of the top five and be replaced by Leeton-Whitton (which has the bye) while a win would give the Goannas plenty of confidence and enhance their finals credentials.
Coolamon will be looking to continue its unbeaten start to the season and the Hoppers are expected to regain the services of classy ball-winner Luke Maloney and Jason So-ong for the clash with MCUE.
Mid-season Coolamon signing Nathan Edyvean will make his return to the Hoppers this weekend and is expected to play reserve grade.
