Temora through to grand final
The first quarter was a tight tussle and an even affair with both teams kicking two goals and Temora led by one-point at the first change.
Temora managed two goals in the second quarter and held TRYC goal-less and the Kangaroos took a 14-point advantage into the long break.
Temora made its move in the premiership quarter with five goals to TRYC’s solitary major and the Kangaroos bounced out to a 38-point lead at three-quarter time.
Both teams managed two goals in the last term but Temora had set the game up with its performance during the third quarter.
Temora shared its goal-kicking around today with Zeik Johnston, Scott Blackwell and Josh Hagar all kicking two majors in the win.TRYC forward Mitch Ward kicked three majors for the Magpies while Dale Hugo was named as their best player.
Daniel Reid, Scott Blackwell and Luke Gerhard all played starring roles in Temora’s win while Damian Ponting, Chris Block and Hagar were also solid all day for the Kangaroos.
The win means Temora moved straight into the grand final while TRYC will now be pitted in a preliminary final showdown against the winner of tomorrow’s first semi-final between Northern Jets and Marrar.
It was a sensational day for Temora with both its first and reserve grade teams winning through to the grand final along with its B grade netball team.
Temora’s A grade and C grade netball teams will also play-off for a position in the grand final in next week’s preliminary final.
Temora’s under 17s football team had a win over Turvey Park in the qualifying final today and will now meet Wagga Tigers in next week’s second semi-final.
