Addison joins GIANTS
The 26-year old played his junior football for the Bankstown Bombers and went to school in Campbelltown in Western Sydney and returns home after eight seasons in Melbourne.
Recruited with pick 27 in the 2005 NAB AFL Draft, Addison debuted in 2006 and has played 88 games, including 12 matches this season.
Addison has the ability to play both forward and back, and has established himself as a defensive forward, kicking 12 goals in 2013 – including a career-best four goals against St Kilda in Round 9.
Addison joins premiership stars Heath Shaw, Shane Mumford and Josh Hunt as the GIANTS’ off-season recruits and adds further experience to the GIANTS for the 2014 season.
The GIANTS will also select Jed Lamb from the Swans in the pre-season draft.
Head Coach Leon Cameron says Dylan Addison is a valuable addition to the GIANTS.
“Dylan has been in the AFL system for a number of years at the Bulldogs and it’s fantastic to add another experienced body to the GIANTS,” said Cameron.
“He grew up here is Western Sydney and it’s great that we’ve been able to give him an opportunity to continue playing at the highest level.
“To add Dylan to the likes of Heath Shaw, Shane Mumford, Josh Hunt and Jed Lamb who’ve decided to join the GIANTS over the off-season is a massive boost for our young list,” he said.
As a delisted free agent, Addison is eligible to join the club immediately.
