Girls only Auskick thriving

In its second year, the program is designed for girls aged between five and 13 as an introduction to the great game.

Southern NSW AFL development manager Marc Geppert could not believe the amount of young girls that were keen to get involved.

“We had about 160 to the first week, which is massive,” Geppert said.

“It’s in its second year, last year we had about 130 but this year we’ve had 165 pay up which is positive and a healthy reflection on the program we ran last year.”

The girls will take part in a six-week program that runs for one hour each Thursday afternoon.

For $45, the girls get to take part and receive an Auskick backpack full of goodies.
