Damian Anderson new umpiring boss
The revised role will be responsible for managing the elite and development components of umpiring in NSW/ACT.
Anderson brings a wealth of experience to the position, having grown up and worked in AFL heartland in a variety of umpiring roles.
Anderson spent 2014 as VFL Umpires Assistant Coach under Cameron Nash, and was previously Umpire Manager at Gippsland Umpires.
While his umpiring administration credentials are impressive, Anderson has experienced plenty of success on-field, with whistle in hand.
At elite second-tier level Anderson has umpired in the VFL and NEAFL, spent time on the AFL rookie list, and officiated at local club level in the AFL Sydney competition.
His all-round umpiring expertise, combined with broad knowledge of the NSW/ACT umpiring landscape, will be a huge boon to AFL NSW/ACT moving forward, as the region looks to continue to increase its umpiring footprint.
