NSW/ACT All Nations team named
The side will travel to Cairns in Far North Queensland this week, departing Thursday April 9th and returning Wednesday April 15th.
The team will compete in the 9-aside National All Nations Championships at Cazaly’s Stadium, the tournament running alongside the National Indigenous Kickstart Championships.
The Championships will be an immersive educational AFL experience, the group combining game play with the opportunity to undertake umpire training, coaches training, and leadership coaching.
AFL NSW/ACT last October held a series of athletic tests in various schools across the region where a group of 30 were selected to participate in the Stephen Coniglio Camp late last year.
The final outfit of 12 was picked from this group, with a diverse cross-section of backgrounds represented, including players who speal Arabic, Indonesian, Shona, Acholi, Samoan, and Vietnamese Dari.
The selected group hails from a range of schools including Al Noori Muslim School, Unity grammar College, Wagga Wagga Christian College, St Mary Mackillop College Wagga Wagga, Miller Technology High School, and Scots College.
