15 NSW/ACT players set for State Combine

15 NSW/ACT products will press their draft claims at State Combines in October, joining the seven youngsters last week invited to the National Combine.

11 of those selected reside and play locally so will attend the NSW combine in Sydney, with a further four NSW/ACT products to show recruiters their wares interstate, at the Victorian, South Australian, and Queensland combines.

The selections come from varying parts of NSW/ACT, from southern NSW (Wagga Wagga, Temora, Albury), to Canberra, and a handful of Sydney metropolitan suburbs.

In total 123 players from competitions across the country have been invited to the various one-day state combines, where testing will mimic much of what’s gauged during the National Combine.

Players needed at least two nominations from clubs to attend the screenings, which will be staged after the national AFL Draft Combine.

Last week 76 players were invited to the national four-day combine, with a further four to be upgraded in the next week.
