WDJFNL clubs to wear blue socks for MND round
THERE will be a sea of blue across the football fields and netball courts on Sunday as Wagga and District junior clubs join in the fight against motor neurone disease (MND).
This weekend’s round of footy and netball will see clubs ‘Sock it to MND’.
Junior footballers and netballers will wear blue socks to raise funds and awareness for the fight against MND.
Organiser Dorothy Vearing hopes to raise over $2000 through the fundraiser.
“We’re looking at making over $2000. The support has been wonderful,” Vearing said.
The proceeds from the socks purchased will go to Neale Daniher’s Cure for MND Foundation.
It comes after Daniher raised millions with his Big Freeze at the G, something his family is extremely proud of.
“What he has done and how much awareness he has created with the Big Freeze is amazing,” Vearing said.
Vearing also thanked Sportsmans Warehouse for their support of the fundraiser.
