NEAFL Representative squad announced
Eight players from Sydney University feature in the squad, with the club the second best represented outfit behind reigning premiers Aspley, while Canberra sides Ainslie (four) and Eastlake (one) will also provide players.
Sydney University’s Daniel Gilmore and Ainslie mentor Jon Harper will also play a part in shaping the representative outfit, named alongside Peter Ryan as assistants to head coach John Blair.
The squad will take part in a training camp this weekend before it’s trimmed in the week leading up to the June 7 clash at Burpengary, north of Brisbane.
From 2011-2013 the NEAFL fielded separate Northern and Eastern Conference representative teams before playing two matches as the first ever combined NEAFL side against the WAFL and TSL last year.
They will only play one representative match in 2015 as the NEAFL looks to reverse a 41-point loss to Tasmania in Hobart last year.
